Hailing from Easton, PA, Kyle Steinmetz, has been producing music for 3 1/2 years and DJ'ing for 1. Using music as a way to tell stories and communicate messages that resonate with others, Kyle produces his own blend of indie electronica that draws inspiration from future bass, trap, breakbeat, and house. "When it comes to DJ'ing... I pretty much just play the music that I like to listen to. I’ve been incorporating a wider range of styles in my sets. I like my sets to feel like a journey with twists and turns but ultimately it’s just music that inspires me."
With inspirations ranging from Mack Miller to Odesza, Kyle originally started making music as a form of therapy. "It was the only way I could express my emotions to the world without words. The same is true 3 1/2 years later. I use music as a way to share parts of myself with the world and let my listeners see the deepest parts of me. I like that I can cover a range of themes from lighthearted and fun to sadness, brooding, and frustration."
With his music reflecting the deepest parts of him, Kyle wanted his brand to represent just that. Struggling to come up with a name that felt right, Kyle eventually got fed up and said, 'My brand is just going to be me. No gimmicks, no explanation needed, I’m just going to be me. Just_Kyle."
Just_Kyle recently dropped a mix that premiered as part of Sweet Sounds Collective's Groove Therapy series and his next release, 'Gray' comes out June 24th on all streaming platforms.
