Our artist spotlights are back and we're kicking things off by introducing you to Zerøtonin!
Cole LaPolla, also known as Zerotonin, is a Hardstyle, Dubstep, and Hard Trap DJ/producer hailing from San Diego, California. Having DJ'ed for 6 years and produced for 3, Cole began his journey producing tropical and melodic house.
With such a diverse creative background, his favorite genres to listen to reflect just that; from deathstep to alt-rock; "The last one usually sends people reeling when I say I like tropical house, but I will die on this hill defending it." We definitely get a sense of the passion Cole has for EDM overall.
With inspiration from artists like Gryffin, Dillion Francis, Nitti Gritti, and Darren Styles, Zerotonin genuinely loves making music. "I love the freedom you have when making music. There are endless directions that you can take a track in, and you can really add your personality to all your songs. Music for me has always been a huge part of my life and it’s always been one of my go-to outlets for expressing myself and my emotions. Around this time last year, I was going through a lot of personal stuff and music really helped me get through it all. In fact, that was when I released my two singles 'You' and 'Right'."
